Co-Director - With more than ten years of experience as the Confirmation coordinator in a Boston area parish Susan is well equipped to direct our Confirmation program as well as catechesis for students in grades 7 and 8. Her warmth, organizational skills and abilities in relating to young adults are tremendous assets in her ministry here at Saint Malachy. |
Fr Thomas A. Kane, C.S.P., Visiting Priest - A Paulist priest, Father Kane's interests include the inculturation of worship and liturgical dance especially in Africa and Micronesia. He is an Associate Professor of Homiletics and Liturgical Practice at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, where he teaches Liturgical Preaching I ; Lay Presiding and Celebration ; and The Church at Prayer: Contemporary Trends in Ecumenical and Interfaith Worship. |
![]() Mr Ken Meltz, Pastoral Associate - Ken has been the Pastoral Associate at Saint Malachy since July of 1996. Known in the Boston area as both a musician and educator, Ken works primarily in the areas of liturgy [as Director of Liturgy and Music], adult education and overall pastoral care of the parish. He has been very involved in the formation of both our separated/divorced Catholic program and our bereavement support group. |
![]() Don Nealon, Religious Ed. Co-Director - Don has been a professional religious educator in numerous Boston area parishes for more than twenty five years. A full time theology teacher at Austin Prep in Reading, Don brings intelligence, insight and wit to his part time position at Saint Malachy, where he is primarily responsible for our Sunday program and sacramental preparation of younger children. |
Fr John J. O'Brien, C.P., Visiting Priest - A native of New York and a Passionist priest, Father O'Brien was in residence at Saint Malachy for four years while completing a doctorate in theology at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. A nationally known liturgist, he now resides at the Passionist House at Saint Gabriel's Parish in Brighton. His weekly liturgy column in the bulletin has been a particular gift to our parish community. |
![]() Fr Leonard F. O'Malley, Pastor - Ordained in 1974, Father O'Malley has been the pastor of Saint Malachy parish since 1995. Born in Lynn and trained at Saint Johns Seminary, his keen interests over the years have been liturgy, music and the renewal of parish life. As pastor he chairs the parish pastoral council as well as the finance council. |
![]() Mrs Mary Ann Savoie, Parish Secretary / Business Manager - Mary Ann has been the parish secretary and business manager since1985 and a parishioner for more than twenty years. Her business and organizational skills are aptly balanced by gentleness and pastoral sensitivity. |
